ACDA Board of Directors and States Representatives
yual Community Development Association (ACDA), a Philadelphia-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by the Lost Boys and Girls of Sudan, was created out a desire to promote positive change in our people's lives by providing educational support, health care needs, and emergency assistance to our people in Southern Sudan and in the Diaspora. In the 20th century, the outbreak of war between Sudan People Liberation Army and the government of the Sudan has had devastating effects on our entire community. Our people have been adversely affected socially, politically, economically, emotionally, physically, and educationally. ACDA MISSION ACDA project: Construction of the Pongborong Primary School
The livelihood of the people in Southern Sudan was entirely destroyed during the war. After the peace agreement was signed, many of the people who took refuge in neighboring countries returned to restart their lives. Our Association is contributing to the community by offering primary education, and also by promoting gender and tribal diversity in the school and in the community. With the help of our friends from around the world and our educated community members, the dreams of a peaceful, prosperous Southern Sudan will become a reality for the next generation.
